Dr. Wayne Waguespack DVM, MS, DACVS, is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. After an internship at the University of Georgia, he completed a surgical residency and Master’s Degree at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. In 2003, Dr. Waguespack became a clinical instructor at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine while completing his board certification to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. From 2004 to 2012, he was on faculty at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and then Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine as a clinical professor.
In 2013, Dr. Waguespack decided to leave academia for private practice, and established Southeastern Veterinary Specialty Center. In 2021, Southeastern Veterinary Specialty Center moved to its current location in Columbus, Georgia. He is currently the only board-certified veterinary surgeon in Columbus and the surrounding area.
Dr. Waguespack is married to Jean Waguespack, and they have two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, golfing, and spending time outdoors.
